GeoSoftware Announces HampsonRussell and Jason 2025.3 Release Delivering Time Savings and More Powerful Reservoir Characterization Insights

September 1, 2025 — Houston, Texas -- GeoSoftware™, the global trusted partner providing geoscience software and consulting services for enhanced subsurface knowledge, is proud to announce the release of the 2025.3 versions of HampsonRussell and Jason, featuring substantial improvements designed to enhance usability, streamline workflows, and deliver more powerful insights for reservoir characterization.

This latest release introduces a wide range of enhancements that save users time, reduce repetitive steps, and improve overall accuracy. New automation, faster processing speeds, and optimized connectivity help geoscientists focus on interpretation instead of traditionally manual tasks.

HampsonRussell 2025.3: Save Time and Accelerate Workflows

The HampsonRussell 2025.3 update introduces several time-saving capabilities, including the automated creation of well tops from horizons for both straight and deviated wells in time and depth domains. Users can now export composite gathers simultaneously from multiple volumes and wells, eliminating the need for repeated manual runs. Enhancements to Fluid Replacement Modeling ensure more reliable AVO modeling results through improved data consistency, while upgrades to AVO Gradient Analysis make workflows more efficient and interactive, reducing repetitive tasks.

GeoAI, a rock-physics based machine learning tool, now has enhanced usability with new multi-2D convolutional neural network workflows that run up to six times faster, a major advantage for geothermal projects with limited 3D seismic data. Additional improvements include expanded support for shallow geophysical data useful in offshore wind farm projects, advanced Principal Component Analysis that instantly ranks attribute influence for clearer geological insights, and new spectral decomposition capabilities that now support batch and multi-node processing for large datasets. With optimized connectivity to Jason, users also gain quicker access to critical data, keeping projects moving efficiently.

Jason 2025.3: Enhanced QC and Usability

Jason 2025.3 strengthens inversion workflows with interactive QC tools in InverTrace-Plus and RockTrace, giving users greater confidence in inversion results. A redesigned polygon editor and simplified well datum editing reduce repetitive steps, while visible clipping ranges make decisions easier. New ultra-low frequency modeling options improve flexibility when well tracks are limited, and official support for 3D viewing using software rendering ensures broader accessibility without specialized graphics hardware. Together, these enhancements within Jason 2025.3 deliver a more intuitive and powerful environment for reservoir characterization and seismic inversion.

"With the 2025.3 release of HampsonRussell and Jason, we are giving our clients faster, smarter, and more reliable workflows that directly translate into better decision-making. By combining advanced AI capabilities with expanded support for emerging applications such as geothermal and offshore wind, we continue to empower geoscientists to unlock deeper insights and drive innovation across the energy industry."
