GeoSoftware 2024.1 Release Optimizes Efficiency and Accelerates Reservoir Characterization Workflows

March 1, 2024—Houston, Texas -- GeoSoftware™, the trusted global partner providing geoscience software and consulting services for enhanced subsurface knowledge, is pleased to announce the latest release of our industry-leading software, HampsonRussell 2024.1, Jason 2024.1 and PowerLog 2024.1.

GeoSoftware is committed to providing cutting-edge and collaborative products aimed at deepening subsurface understanding and maximizing reservoir potential. This latest release demonstrates our dedication to innovation and delivering solutions tailored to user challenges and needs.

New CNN Applications in GeoAI
The latest software release introduces innovative enhancements to GeoAI, revolutionizing the landscape of rock physics and machine learning. Among the key features is improved Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model prediction that utilizes angle-dependent scalars, delivering more accurate prediction results. Furthermore, users can benefit from enhanced visualization tools tailored for quality control assessments of CNN application between wells, fostering a deeper understanding of geological structures.

New Features
The Cross Plot Depth Trend Fit tool offers HampsonRussell users a straightforward method to discern depth trends, providing valuable insights into subsurface geology and fluid dynamics. Stratigraphic slicing empowers users to confidently map horizons throughout a volume, facilitating easier interpretation consistent with stratigraphy. Additionally, Emerge now provides a trace mix of windowed attributes ensuring geologically consistent results devoid of vertical smearing for greater accuracy and clarity in reservoir property prediction.

Performance Enhancements
HampsonRussell now delivers 2-3 times faster well and log data access and successfully handles large databases with up to 10,000 wells. Additionally, users can perform parameterization in chained processing, delivering quicker results through streamlined processes and user-selected predefined parameters.

Meanwhile, EarthModel unveils enhanced fast kriging performance for model building, allowing up to a remarkable 10x speed improvement for network drive storage, which significantly reduces processing time from hours to minutes. Several additional updates were implemented in Jason to reduce workflow time and further streamline processes, enhancing overall productivity and empowering geoscientists to achieve more in less time.

Usability Improvements
Session selection upon application launch in Jason minimizes mouse clicks, allowing users to swiftly access desired views and switch between sessions effortlessly. Improved XY.map and Run.map management ensures automatic backup of files and introduces a user-friendly restore functionality, simplifying the process of reverting to previous surveys and coordinates. Moreover, EarthModel introduces functionality to enable users to halt lengthy model building processes if desired.

The GeoSoftware Petrel Plugin live link connectivity in HampsonRussell eliminates the need to store multiple copies of seismic data sets, eliminating data duplication and reducing import/export requirements. RockSI delivers more intuitive workflows with improved location of parameters in the software interface.

PowerLog RPM empowers users to accomplish tasks with greater ease and precision with adjustable rock stiffness parameters and weight factor assignment for enhanced modeling flexibility.

Our team of reservoir experts worked tirelessly to deliver this new release that improves user experience and delivers greater efficiency. Together, these advancements represent a notable step forward in reservoir characterization software, equipping geoscience professionals with the tools needed to navigate complex geological structures with precision and confidence.
