Seismic Petrophysics and Rock Physics Modelling for Reservoir Characterization

June 16-17, 2027

Course Overview

Reliable quantitative interpretation starts with well data that is consistent with the seismic. This course covers seismic petrophysics, including log conditioning, shear and density prediction, multi-well evaluation and upscaling, followed by building and calibrating rock physics models that link reservoir properties to elastic behaviour.

What you will gain

  • A validated, seismic-ready elastic well dataset as the foundation for AVO, inversion and machine learning
  • Confidence in log editing, missing-log prediction and consistent multi-well petrophysical evaluation
  • The ability to build, calibrate and apply rock physics models, templates and Gassmann fluid substitution
  • A clear understanding of how lithology, porosity and fluids appear in seismic data
  • Quantified uncertainty through Monte Carlo analysis to support better-informed decisions
