Rock Physics Diagnostics and Rock Physics Modeling are often treated as part of the same workflow, but they serve different purposes. Diagnostics helps us understand what is happening in the data. Modeling tests whether our petrophysical interpretation and rock physics model inputs can reproduce the observed elastic response of the reservoir.
Many workflows stop after identifying trends and making assumptions based on a specific rock physics model. However, observing that the data follows a model trend does not necessarily mean that the model has been validated. This webinar explores how integrating Rock Physics Diagnostics and Rock Physics Modeling can help build confidence in reservoir characterization by closing the loop between interpretation, prediction, and validation.
