This Class is designed for new RockTrace users. The Jason®Workbench RockTrace module performs Simultaneous AVA/AVO Inversion based on CSSI (Constrained Sparse Spike Inversion. In RockTrace, the objective is to solve acoustic and shear impedances, Vp/Vs and, where data allow, density. The resulting volumes of absolute and relative rock properties are tightly calibrated to the well log data. These results are mostly used to delineate lithology, porosity, fluid content, and other petrophysical parameters.
This course will teach the participants to run a Simultaneous Inversion, QC, interpret and analyze the results. You will learn the workflow and QC procedures to perform an inversion using RockTrace. Through a combination of lectures and exercises on a 3D Gulf of Mexico data set, students will learn the following skills:
Acquire the ability to perform Simultaneous Inversion projects. Through practice and experience, students will be able to understand the inversion theory workflow and interpret the results. Thereby, the students learn to take full advantage of RockTrace functionalities and capabilities.
