Seismic Reservoir Characterization with HampsonRussell

MARCH 4 -8, 2024.
North America (United States and Canada)

Learning Objectives:

Gain a greater understanding of geophysical theory and the chance to learn advanced techniques in Seismic Reservoir Characterization in this comprehensive 5-day course. Perform all crucial steps of the Seismic Reservoir Characterization workflow, from data conditioning to analyzing inversion results, with hands-on exercises in HampsonRussell and knowledge that is applicable to your day-to-day projects.

Content:

  • Foundations: Explain essential operations that are common to most HRS applications and are being used as an introduction to the software suite.
  • AVO: A comprehensive look at the theory and application of the AVO method. At the end of the course, participants will be able to identify potential AVO applications in their own exploration areas and undertake AVO projects.
  • Strata (Post-Stack): A detailed overview of deterministic seismic inversion methods. At the conclusion of the course, participants will be able to evaluate inversion methods and undertake inversion projects.
  • Emerge: A comprehensive review of how to use seismic attributes to build robust relationships for predicting petrophysical volumes. Structured to teach theory alongside practical exercises, equipping the user in the operation of the Emerge software.

Duration: 5 days (all day)
Software used: HampsonRussell
