Seismic gather data conditioning in HampsonRussell

9 December 2026

Learning Objectives:

At the end of the course participants will gain familiarity with why seismic data conditioning matters and learn how to use HampsonRussell tools effectively for this purpose

Content:

This course explains seismic gather conditioning techniques essential for Quantitative Interpretation (QI) studies.

This course emphasizes the importance of conditioning seismic data before QI workflows, explores processes available in HampsonRussell for seismic gather conditioning, and apply theory through a practical exercise implementing key conditioning steps on offset gather data.

  • User interface, workflows, data tree, processes
  • Seismic gather data conditioning theoretical background: NMO Residual Moveout, Noise Attenuation, Resolution enhancement
  • Long offset RNMO
  • Spectral Balancing

  • Mute far offset noise

  • Parabolic Radon transform to remove noise
