GeoSoftware Announces 2026.0 Release of HampsonRussell, Jason, and PowerLog - Delivering Enhanced Interpretation Accuracy, Workflow Efficiency, and Data Confidence

Written by GeoSoftware | 12/1/2025

December 1, 2025 —GeoSoftware™, the global trusted partner providing geoscience software and consulting services for enhanced subsurface knowledge, is proud to announce the release of the 2026.0 versions of HampsonRussell, Jason, and PowerLog, representing the latest advancements in seismic reservoir characterization and petrophysical analysis.

This release focuses on more intuitive usability, improved visualization, and expanded automation, empowering subsurface teams to make clearer, faster, and more reliable decisions across the full geoscience workflow.

HampsonRussell 2026.0: Enhanced Clarity and Greater Confidence

The HampsonRussell 2026.0 release delivers significant improvements that help geoscientists achieve clearer geological understanding, streamline analysis, and increase confidence in reservoir characterization results.

A new Mode Averaging method sharpens lithology class boundaries, delivering more geologically consistent results in data slice analysis. AVO interpretation also becomes easier and faster with clearer gradient displays and the ability to run AVO attribute volume QC along any arbitrary line, allowing quick checks over critical survey areas. Spectral Decomposition workflows now incorporate inserted well paths to provide immediate spatial context during frequency-based analysis, while Emerge boosts productivity through a cleaner, sortable interface that simplifies log shift optimization.

Azimuthal interpretation gains greater reliability through enhanced fold-aware rose diagram handling, reducing the risk of misinterpretation caused by uneven azimuthal coverage. Finally, GeoAI workflows for rock physics-based machine learning offer improved control, increased stability, and clearer visual outputs —now with expanded multi-2D seismic support.

Jason 2026.0: More Intuitive and More Efficient Workflows

Jason 2026.0 delivers smoother, more efficient interpretation experience with improvements designed to reduce QC time, streamline modeling, and enhance overall usability.

Quality control is strengthened through clearer, independent gate management and alerts that notify users when inversion parameters and outputs are out of sync. A simplified, unified scheduler interface makes it easier to manage complex runs, while batch editing helps teams maintain clean, consistent scenario naming. Performance upgrades shorten runtime by sharing upscaled inputs across scenarios and allowing parallelization to accelerate upscaling. Users can generate facies probability volumes across multiple layers with shared models, apply multi-level facies structures more easily, and define constant elastic trends without extra file creation, reducing setup time. An improved polygon editing workflow provides instant visual feedback across synchronized panels and enables focused analysis within defined vertical gates, helping users interpret more confidently and make decisions faster.

PowerLog 2026.0: Smarter Interpretation and Better Data Reliability

PowerLog 2026.0 enhances petrophysical evaluation through more accurate porosity estimation, smoother interpretation tools, and improved data reliability.

The new deterministic porosity module delivers more dependable porosity calculations with flexible modeling options, advanced hydrocarbon corrections, and better QC support, giving petrophysicists increased confidence in challenging reservoirs. Seismogram interpretation is more dynamic with real-time AVA updates when adjusting multiple events, enabling clearer assessment of amplitude behavior. Operational workflows benefit from automated database backups that run from service accounts, even when users are logged out. The new centralized storage strengthens data governance and ensures teams always have reliable access to up-to-date information.

“With the 2026.0 release, we are delivering technology that meaningfully elevates how our customers interpret the subsurface. Our focus remains on empowering geoscientists with clearer insights, faster workflows, and more reliable outcomes so they can make confident decisions in increasingly complex environments. This release reflects our continued commitment to innovation and to supporting our clients across every stage of their reservoir characterization journey.”
