GeoSoftware 2025.2 Release Redefines Subsurface Workflows to Accelerate Reservoir Insights and Data Connectivity

Written by GeoSoftware | 06/1/2025

June 1, 2025 — Houston, Texas -- GeoSoftware™, the global trusted partner providing geoscience software and consulting services for enhanced subsurface knowledge, is proud to announce the release of the 2025.2 versions of HampsonRussell and Jason, delivering breakthrough advancements that enhance integration, performance, and accuracy for the energy industry.

Packed with major performance upgrades, advanced AI modeling, and seamless data integration, this release represents a step forward for subsurface teams seeking faster, smarter, and more connected workflows.

Revolutionizing Connectivity with Petrosys Exchange
This release introduces the powerful new Petrosys Exchange integration—an embedded connector within HampsonRussell and Jason—that allows users to seamlessly import and export well data across industry-standard platforms like the OSDU™ Data Platform, Geoactive Interactive Petrophysics, IHS Kingdom, and more. This marks a critical advancement in eliminating data silos and enabling cross-platform collaboration in subsurface workflows.

By facilitating streamlined data access and writeback capabilities, the Petrosys Exchange connectivity helps teams make faster, more informed decisions and achieve more accurate reservoir characterization and well planning results.

HampsonRussell 2025.2: Enhanced Modeling, Smarter AI
HampsonRussell 2025.2 introduces sophisticated updates that help geoscientists build more reliable subsurface models—especially in regions with sparse or incomplete well data. The enhanced Strata Low Frequency Modeling feature now intelligently extrapolates missing data using only relevant wells in the appropriate domain, reducing modeling artifacts and uncertainty.

In parallel, significant upgrades to GeoAI workflows make machine learning more intuitive and impactful. Users can now easily manage their neural networks, improve interpretability with synthetic formation tops, and rely on cleaner, more stable results thanks to corrected training window alignment and sample shift issues.

Jason 2025.2: Advanced Trace Analysis and Large Data Handling
Jason 2025.2 continues to lead the way in high-resolution seismic interpretation and inversion with precision-focused upgrades to Composite Trace workflows. A new Time-based averaging method offers users an alternative to spectrum-based averaging, enabling more flexible and accurate amplitude analysis. Well distance filtering streamlines trace selection, while composite trace recalculations improve accuracy and ease of tying deviated wells.

Additionally, large-scale users will benefit from new SSH-based distributed computation, allowing for secure, scalable data processing across remote Linux systems. Improved job scheduling features give users more control over compute resource allocation, helping teams maximize license efficiency and throughput.

“This release represents a major leap forward in our mission to deliver smarter, more connected, and user-centric geoscience software. From seamless data exchange and smarter AI modeling to cloud-ready collaboration and scalability, these updates reflect our commitment to equipping geoscientists with the tools they need to work more efficiently, accurately, and collaboratively.”
